FEDERAL STYLE INLAID MAHOGANY CARD TABLE.Late 19th-early 20th century, Baltimore, Maryland. This fine bench made example with the label of Potthast Bros. with rectangular top and curved corners. The hinged single board top above the conforming frieze with eliptical cross banding raised on four tapered square legs with inlaid borders and rosewood crossbanded cuffs. The original paper label affixed to the underside of the top. SIZE: 29" h x 36" w x 18" d. PROVENANCE: A most historical and important collection from the estate of Maria Decatur Mayo Deyo (Lila) Garnett of Kittery Point, Maine. CONDITION: Table retains original surface, structurally good. One early structural repair at head of right rear proper leg at apron. Small loss to cuff proper left front leg. 52714-35 HMG (800-1,200)
