CENTENNIAL PHILADELPHIA CHIPPENDALE MAHOGANY LOW BOY.

Early 20th century American. The rectangular top with notched corners projecting above the conforming case fitted with a long drawer above a central, deeply carved shell and foliate drawer flanked by short drawers, all with thumb molded edges above a scalloped apron carved with a basket of fruit flanked by leaf tips. The case with engaged, fluted quarter columns raised on cabriole legs with foliate carved knees terminating in ball-and-talon feet. Case retains original hand-cast and finished brasses. SIZE: 29" h x 36" w x 20" d. PROVENANCE: A most historical and important collection from the estate of Maria Decatur Mayo Deyo (Lila) Garnett of Kittery Point, Maine. CONDITION: Low boy with original polished surface and a mellow honey-brown color. Drawer runners worn and with minor splits and breaks, all pieces present. Missing one bale. 52714-16 HMG (500-800)
