PAIR OF CHIPPENDALE STYLE WING CHAIRS.20th century American. The rectangular back with arched crest nails joined to ogival wings continuing to rolled arms centering the trapezoidal seat fitted with cushion, raised on square molded front legs and backswept rear legs joined by an H-form stretcher. SIZE: 41" height back, 15" height of seat x 29" w overall. PROVENANCE: A most historical and important collection from the estate of Maria Decatur Mayo Deyo (Lila) Garnett of Kittery Point, Maine. CONDITION: Structurally good, legs in need of re-polishing. Original velvet upholstery present but extremely faded. Chairs are accompanied by current floral slipcovers. 52714-8 HMG (400-800)
