FINE COLONIAL REVIVAL MINIATURE TALL CASE CLOCK.Late 19th-early 20th century, New York. With the label of "SYPHER & CO. NY", the arched cove molded cornice above the frieze mounted with a gilt metal masque of a winged god above the circular silvered dial with Roman numeral chapter ring. The blued hands set within a hatch-carved ring above the time only aperture flanked by engaged flat Corinthian columns with cast brass capitals and bases above the throat, set with a boulle style rectangular panel within a molded brass border flanked by engaged rope-twist half columns on a cove molded waste above the box base with boulle style decoration, flanked by shaped pilasters on rolled feet. The case decorated in simulated tortoise shell, the moldings ebonized. The movement with spring-driven eight day time only movement of unknown origin with serial number "1313". SIZE: 16-1/2" h x 5-1/2" w x 4-1/2" d. CONDITION: Proper left molded cornice reattached at seam. Boulle style panels on base and throat with small losses to brass inlay at center of each panel and with cosmetic repairs such as reattachment of brass elements.
