CHIPPENDALE STYLE MAHOGANY LOWBOY TOGETHER WITH A GOVERNOR WINTHROP MAHOGANY SLANT LID DESK.1) 20th century, New England. The lowboy or dressing table with rectangular top and rounded edge above the conforming case fitted with a pair of aligned short drawers over three short drawers, the centermost shell-carved, above a molded apron raised on angular cabriole legs on ball-and claw-feet. 2) Chippendale style desk with rectangular case and hinged, sloping lid resting on lopers opening to an interior fitted with a shell-carved prospect door, flanked by pigeon holes above a row of small stationery and document drawers. The case fitted with four graduated reverse serpentine long drawers, molded base raised on ball and claw feet. SIZE: 1) 30" h x 36" w x 20" d. 2) 41" h x 40-1/2" w x 20" d. PROVENANCE: From an unreserved Corea, ME collection. CONDITION: 1) Structurally very good. Surface now dry with some craquelure and with normal and expected in-use wear and minor abrasions. 2) Structurally very good. Somewhat sun-faded with slight craquelure.
