SHERATON TIGER MAPLE AND EBONIZED CHEST OF DRAWERS WITH SANDWICH GLASS HARDWARE.Second quarter 19th century, probably New York state. The chest of drawers with rectangular raised glove boxes and shaped splash guard set back upon the conforming case fitted with a deep long drawer projecting above three graduated drawers flanked by engaged half column pilasters, stencil decorated on blocked turnip legs with suppressed ball feet. The whole fitted with white Sandwich glass knobs of floral form, the drawer fronts all of tiger maple. The case sides with recessed panels. SIZE: 55" h x 44" w x 20-1/2" d. PROVENANCE: From an unreserved Corea, ME collection. CONDITION: Chest has been cleaned and polished. Original glass knobs with some repair. Otherwise good with pale honey color. 52885-34 HMG (400-600)
