TWO PAIR OF MAPLE SHERATON TWIN BEDS.19th century, New England. The first pair with carved pineapple posts, each paneled headboard with scrolled ears on blocked posts with swelled, cylindrical, ring-turned legs, the beds joined by rectangular side rails with bolt fasteners. The second pair with ring-turned urn finials on columnar ring-turned posts on block supports with cylindrical ring-turned legs. Each headboard with simple rectangular pine panel; each bed now with rectangular custom side rails of later vintage, fastened by bolts. SIZE: First pair: 47-1/2" h x 80" l x 42-1/2" w overall; interior 76" l x 37-1/2" w. Second pair: 41-1/2" h x 83" l x 42" w (overall); interior 76" l x 36-1/2" w. PROVENANCE: From an unreserved Corea, Maine estate collection. CONDITION: All four beds structurally good with normal and expected in-use wear and abrasions. Brass bolt covers present on first pair, absent on second pair. Otherwise generally good. 52885-7 HMG (400-600)
