EARLY AMERICAN PINE TWO DRAWER BLANKET CHEST.Early 19th century, New England. The rectangular single board top with applied molded edge joined to the case with rat tail iron hinges. The conforming case fitted with two long drawers with molded edges, raised on primitive bracket frontal feet. The case with bootjack ends. SIZE: 36" h x 37" w x 18" d. PROVENANCE: From an unreserved Corea, ME collection. CONDITION: Lid with multiple old repairs and stabilization of shrinkage cracks. Chest with scrubbed surfaces, now with honey-brown color. 52885-26 HMG (500-700)
