TRAMP ART MATCHSTICK COVERED BOX.Late 19th or early 20th century, American. The rectangular box mimicking a blanket chest with central inlaid heart flanked by inlaid diamonds. The rectangular lid with matchstick geometric decoration and diamond inlays opening an interior with hidden tray sliding open to second storage well. The case with flattened walnut mid molding above shaped bracket base. SIZE: 5-1/2" h x 9-1/4" l x 5-1/3" w. PROVENANCE: Contents of a lifetime collection "Brook Crossing," South Pomfret, VT. CONDITION: Original surface with mellow patina with normal and expected in-use wear and abrasions. Losses to upper right and left corner trim. Otherwise good. 52806-114 HMG (800-1,200)
