TWO PAINTED CHESTS AND CRICKET STOOL.

The French pine dome-top trunk in red paint, identified in stencil decoration "Marquise de Sevigne Chocolat de Luxe Paris". The box fitted with carrying handles. Small rectangular dovetailed box in original red paint with dovetailed case. The lid with molded edge. Cricket bench in pine with rectangular seat with turned, canted legs. The bench ends with applied molding. SIZE: 25" h x 32" w x 17" d. Box: 12" h x 28-1/2" l x 10-3/4" d. Bench: 8" h x 22" l x 15" w. PROVENANCE: From an unreserved Corea, ME collection. CONDITION: Structurally good, significant surface soiling with abrasions and in-use wear. Box with original paint. Hinges need resetting and stabilization of splits. Normal expected in-use wear and soiling. Bench has single plank top with irregular shrinkage split, old braces beneath seat original. Traces of original cream paint.
