FERREGHAN AND BOKHARA ORIENTAL RUGS.1) Late 19th century, west Persia. The central stepped arabesque medallion with five trellised floral designs on a madder red field within zigzag floral chains and with sawtooth ivory border on a midnight-blue field with multiple aligned chains of flower heads, all within multiple floral guard borders. 2) Turn of the 20th century, Turkmenistan. Two rows of stylized ivory flower heads alternating with diamond medallions within a burgundy main border of stylized Turkoman guls. SIZE: 1) 4' 4" x 6' 5". 2) 3' 4" x 6' 1". PROVENANCE: From an unreserved Corea, ME collection. CONDITION: 1) Normal and expected in-use wear and soiling. Overall exposure of foundation. Retains good color and palate. Loss of fringe. 2) Moderate wear and losses throughout. Fair condition. 52885-8 hmg (500-700)
