GROUP OF THREE TEKKE BOKHARA RUGS.First quarter 20th century, Turkmenistan. 1) A single row of burgundy and ivory guls flanked by conforming rows of half guls within multiple crenelated, floral, and geometric guard borders, all in shades of indigo and burgundy. The end with a wide band of Turkoman guls. 2) Three rows of eight guls in ivory, mustard-yellow, indigo, and terracotta on a wine-red field within a main border of diamond shape forms, each with a central diamond with indigo highlights within guard borders of latch hooks. 3) Two rows of seven guls, alternating with diamonds and Leshgi stars on a brick-red field within multiple borders of candlesticks, crenelations, and flower heads. SIZE: 1) 3' 11" x 6' 6". 2) 3' 11" x 5' 6". 3) 4' x 4' 10". PROVENANCE: From an unreserved Corea, ME collection. CONDITION: 1) Normal and expected wear. Retaining strong palate. Moderate loss to fringe at each end. Small low area at center position of third gul. Otherwise good. 2) Normal and expected wear. Small areas of foundation exposed. Losses to fringes at each end. Fair to good overall. 3) Moderate wear overall. Small areas of foundation exposed. Losses to two corners and fringe at one end. Loss to selvage at one area, continuing into outer guard border.
