TWO HERIZ PATTERN KARASTAN RUGS.Mid 20th century, American. These machine made examples have Heriz design. The first with a central arabesque medallion in pale indigo on a pale pink field with light blue and pink spandrels. The main border with scrolling flower heads of geometric design. The second with an oversized central medallion with a striated pink field within pale indigo spandrels, all with dense floral and geometric designs. The ivory main border with subsidiary medallions in rose and ivory, all within multiple guard borders. SIZE: 1) 5' 10" x 9' 7", including fringe. 2) 8' 2" x 12'. PROVENANCE: From an unreserved Corea, ME collection. CONDITION: First very good overall with full pile. Second retains full pile with some remnants of old water stains at each opposing corner at one end in area of main border and spandrel. 52885-23 hmg (600-800)
