EARLY CARVED SANTOS FIGURE TOGETHER WITH TWO PAIR OF FRENCH ABALONE AND BRASS OPERA GLASSES.1) Santos of Mary and Jesus, Mary in flowing robes holding the baby Jesus in her arms. Mounted on a Chinese rockwork plinth. 2) Pair of "LEMAIRE" adjustable opera glasses with removable brass and mother of pearl handle which, when attached to the binoculars, gains the ability to adjust and focus the glasses; when the handle is removed, the glasses adjust as would normally be expected via twisting the central post. Together with lemon-yellow velvet pouch. 2) Small pair of "Carton QUEEN" opera glasses. SIZE: Varied, 8" h (largest - figure) PROVENANCE: A most historical and important collection from the estate of Maria Decatur Mayo Deyo (Lila) Garnett of Kittery Point, Maine. CONDITION: Santos figure missing right forearm and with old rot to portion of base. With good undisturbed surface and patina.
