PAIR OF CASED JAPANESE NIGHT VISION BINOCULARS WITH STAND.The fitted wooden case with front plaque in Japanese. During WWII the Japanese had technology better than the US and that their night vision binoculars were far superior so whenever a ship was captured or a chance to acquire these they were always taken. These were acquired during the battle of Okinawa by Rear Admiral Morton Deyo. SIZE: Binoculars: 23" l. Case: 9" h x 19-1/2" w x 27" l. Non- folding tripod: 62" h x 18" w at top. PROVENANCE: A most historical and important collection from the estate of Maria Decatur Mayo Deyo (Lila) Garnett of Kittery Point, Maine.
