INTERESTING 18TH CENTURY AMERICAN COIN SILVER LOW TAZZA INITIALED "MW" WITH POSSIBLE WASHINGTON PROVENANCE.Family lore states that this piece belonged to Mary Ball Washington, George Washington's mother. The stepped rim top plate joined to a tapering round base with flared foot. The underside of the plate deeply engraved "MW". 4.8 troy oz. SIZE: 1-3/4" h x 5-1/3" dia. PROVENANCE: A most historical and important collection from the estate of Maria Decatur Mayo Deyo (Lila) Garnett of Kittery Point, Maine, descendant of Commodore Stephen Decatur (1779-1820), Captain John Pine Decatur (1786-1832), and Vice Admiral Morton Deyo (1887-1973). Also Descending from the Ten Eyke and Mayo Families. CONDITION: Some light bends and dents, generally good. 52714-138 WAG (500-1,000)
