MASSACHUSETTS QUEEN ANNE MAHOGANY TILT-TOP TEA TABLE.Third quarter 18th century, probably Salem, MA. The serpentine top with rounded edge hinged and joined above the urn-turned standard raised on tripod cabriole leg base terminating in ribbed pad feet. SIZE: 28" h x 35" w x 36" d. PROVENANCE: A most historical and important collection from the estate of Maria Decatur Mayo Deyo (Lila) Garnett of Kittery Point, Maine. CONDITION: Table has been refinished. Top with full length split has been reglued and now stable. Some wood filler visible along underside of crack. The split was stabilized with corrugated metal fasteners visible from underside only. Each table leg has been reinforced with galvanized metal brace contoured to the underside of each leg. Two legs have been broken and repaired at curve of ankle, both now stable. 52714-11 HMG (2,000-2,500)
