FINE AND RARE FEDERAL BRASS SERPENTINE FIRE FENDER.First quarter 19th century, New England. This pierced example with pronounced serpentine front features three displayed eagles depicting an interpretation of the Great Seal of the United States. SIZE: 6" h x 48" l x 20" d. PROVENANCE: A most historical and important collection from the estate of Maria Decatur Mayo Deyo (Lila) Garnett of Kittery Point, Maine. CONDITION: Normal and expected deterioration to ash tray, otherwise with normal and expected discolor and abrasion from typical usage. Very good condition overall. 52714-22 HMG (500-800)
