LOT OF EXCAVATED GLAZED POTTERY INCLUDING SCARABS, AMULETS AND METAL PIECE.Three large scarabs with wings, three small scarabs, two amulets, and a light colored scarab. Note: Ruth Lynda Deyo (1884-1960) was a successful concert pianist and traveled extensively during her career. In the 1920's she traveled to Egypt where she performed frequently, composing and working as a pioneering ethnomusicologist and became something of an Egyptologist, something quite unusual for a woman at that time. Accompanying her on these trips was her husband Charles Dalton. SIZE: Larges: 4-3/4" across x 2". Smallest: 1/2" x 1/4". PROVENANCE: A most historical and important collection from the estate of Maria Decatur Mayo Deyo (Lila) Garnett of Kittery Point, Maine.
