MEXICAN WAR ERA QUARTER-PLATE DAGUERREOTYPE OF CRYSTAL CLEAR OFFICER WITH EAGLE HEAD SWORD.This fine circa 1850 image has amazing contrast showing very sharp details of this officer's face. Every fold of skin in his face is seen as the details of the fabric his chapeau rests with the detailed eagle cockade and plume. His sash is tinted red and his uniform braid, epaulets and sword are gilded. A really stunning image and among the best of its day. SIZE: CONDITION: Fine overall.
