GROUP OF SEVEN STERLING HIP FLASKS AND CIGARETTE CASES.1) A 6" h hip flask which pulls apart midway for a cup, Birmingham 1893-4, maker's hallmark "GU" (George Unite & Sons). The front having family crest of Robertson "Virtutis Gloria Merces", monogrammed "FCR". 2) A 5-1/2" h hip flask with separation at middle for cup, crest of standing lion on short crown for Ravenscroft. Hallmarked London 1868-9, makers mark "WS" (possibly for William Smalling). 3) A 4" h hip flask with crest of standing lion holding sprig of flowers. London 1838-9, hallmarked "CA" over "WS". 4) 3" x 3-1/2" cigarette case, London 1899-1900. Maker's mark "W&F". Inscribed on cover "Prize for revolver shooting / Presented to / Gentleman Cadet Pile / R.M. Academy / July 1904". 5) A 3-1/2" x 2-1/2" cigarette case, Birmingham 1903-4, makers mark "H&A". The front inscribed "C.J. Paterson / Capt & Adjt / 1st Battn South Wales Borderers / Died of wounds / Ypres 1st Novr 1914". On the backside a crest with eagle feeding three young surrounded by belt "Amore". 6) A 3" x 2-1/2" cigarette case, London 1897-8, makers mark "FE" (Frederrick Edmonds). Interior marked by the retailer "Willson & Gill 134 Regent St London", the front having an armorial crest with boar and banner "Firmum In Vita Nihil" with an interlocking monogram. 7) A 3-1/2" x 2-1/2" cigarette case, Sheffield 1888-9, makers mark "WN" , the front with armorial crest of stag head, Backside inscribed "Moylan J. Macdonell / R.N.A.S. 1918". Ex Flayderman Collection. Total weight approximately 28 troy oz. SIZE: As noted above. CONDITION: All show use with some dents, good. 52927-1 WAG (1,000-1,500)
