CASED SHIP MODEL OF THE YACHT "PURITAN", 1885 AMERICA'S CUP DEFENDER BY WILLIAM HITCHCOCK.The "Puritan" was winner over the English challenger "Genesta". The "Puritan" was built by George Lawley & Son of Boston and raced for the New York Yacht Club. The red & white hulled yacht having plank type deck with good detail. Housed in a custom brass edged glass case. Unsigned. Commission by our consignor to be built by William Hitchcock. SIZE: 27" h x 28" w x 8" d. PROVENANCE: Private California Collection.
