NAUTICAL THEMED DESK CLOCK WITH DOUBLE SHIP'S WHEEL.Late 19th/early 20th century. The brass ship's wheel mounted with an Aneroid barometer; the opposing wheel with a spring driven clock with enamel dial and with Roman and Arabic numeral chapter rings, each with clear glass beveled bezel. Joined to, and turning on, a ratcheted capstan. The dials can be rotated on the base to view each side. The eight-day timepiece clock movement with balance escapement. The capstan joined to and mounted on a rectangular red marble base with sloping sides on a brass plate. SIZE: 8" h x 7" l x 4-1/2" w. CONDITION: Clock retains old original surfaces with nice in-use patina, bezels and dials are clean. Red marble with chip on one corner, otherwise good. 52893-2 HMG (700-1,000)
