PATRIOTIC GEORGE WASHINGTON HAND WORKED TAPESTRY.The needlework picture has an oval central half portrait of Washington surrounded by oak leaves and red, white, and blue shields in corners. The borders having applied twisted decorative rope. The tapestry has been mounted to a piece of Masonite and housed in an antique mahogany frame. Probably centennial or earlier. SIZE: 27" h x 23-1/2" w. Overall 32-1/2" h x 29" w. CONDITION: Glued to board, some fading, losses primarily in the blue areas. 52895-4 WAG (3,000-5,000)
