FINE HEPPLEWHITE INLAID MAHOGANY DEMILUNE SIDEBOARD.First quarter 19th century, possibly coastal New England. The rectangular top with bowfront and rosewood crossbanding, projecting above the conforming case, fitted with three aligned drawers above a deep, central drawer fitted with bottle compartments, flanked by a cupboard door and deep drawer, all with contrasting string inlays and with mahogany and rosewood crossbanding. Raised on molded square tapered legs. SIZE: 39" h x 60" w x 28-1/2" d. PROVENANCE: From an unreserved Corea, ME collection. CONDITION: Sideboard retains original polished surfaces. Period brasses are later replacements. Case sides with horizontal shrinkage cracks now stabilized. Central frontal legs now with reinforcing corner brackets. Rear legs applied with reinforcement strips at back. Case now stable. Very good overall. 52885-28 HMG (800-1,200)
