EXCEPTIONAL LARGE WOODLANDS BURL BOWL.Late 18th-early 19th century, New England. The large, deeply carved bowl with pronounced pierced hand grips and with primitive, unfinished bottom. SIZE: 9-1/4" h x 17-3/4" w x 15-1/4" d. PROVENANCE: Contents of a lifetime collection "Brook Crossing", South Pomfret, VT. CONDITION: Small fissures, filled and polished. The rough-hewn interior retaining original surface with good patina. Bowl polished over time and with early brown wash. Structurally very good. 52806-77 HMG (1,000-2,000)
