TWO RARE EARLY AMERICAN WROUGHT IRON CHOPPERS.Second half 18th century, probably Pennsylvania. The largest with spade shaped blade with a central 5-tine wrought iron decoration, scrolled and rolled as a conifer joined to a turned wood handle. The smaller with a D-form blade centering a 2-tine decorative heart-shaped device. The chopper joined to a turned wood handle. SIZE: Spade shape: 15" l x 9" w. Heart shape: 13" l x 6" w. CONDITION: Each chopper with normal and expected corrosion and in-use wear to the blades. Each handle well worn with old original surface and undisturbed patina.
