ESA - NANTUCKET LIGHT SHIP BASKET.Mid-20th century Nantucket, Massachusetts. This unsigned example of unusual oval form, the lid with conforming walnut insert mounted with a small whales tooth attached to the basket. The woven rope hinges and ivory escutcheon form latch with receiver and with fid shaped pin. The basket with rectangular walnut base and D-form steam bent oak swing handle attached to the basket with turned ivory pins. SIZE: Handle extended: 9-1/2" h. Basket: 6-1/2" h. 9-1/2" l x 6-1/2" w. PROVENANCE: Contents of a lifetime collection "Brook Crossing", South Pomfret, VT. CONDITION: Very good condition overall.
