FINE SMALL NANTUCKET LIGHTSHIP BASKET.Late 19th-early 20th century, Nantucket, Massachusetts. This deep, smaller example in multi-shaded rattan. The fixed oak handle fitted to a hickory rim. The basket made with a pine base, on which the maker's name is printed in pencil; somewhat illegibly signed but believed to be "C. BAKER". SIZE: 11" h (including handle) x 9-1/2" dia. PROVENANCE: Contents of a lifetime collection "Brook Crossing", South Pomfret, VT. CONDITION: Very good overall. With fine nutty-brown variegated color and patina. 52806-124 HMG (600-900)
