NANTUCKET LIGHTSHIP BASKET.Early 20th century, Nantucket, Massachusetts. Of typical form with D-form bent ash swing handle. The wide carrying basket with figured maple bottom, unmarked. SIZE: 5-3/4" h x 12-1/2" dia. PROVENANCE: Contents of a lifetime collection "Brook Crossing", South Pomfret, VT. CONDITION: Fine nutty-brown color and patina. Some surface soiling. The basket somewhat dry and crusty. Loss of a 2" woven section at midpoint. Otherwise good. 52806-98 HMG (800-1,200)
