PILGRIM CENTURY CROSS BASE OAK CANDLESTAND.Late 17th, early 18th century New England. Old Spanish brown paint. The thin circular top joined to a chamfered cleat, further joined to a hand carved circular post mortise and tenon joined to crossed, stepped feet. SIZE: 26-1/2" h x 14-1/2-14-3/4" dia. CONDITION: Top with old fissure showing an iron strap mend beneath. One foot with fine horizontal age split, early peg repaired from beneath, minor normal and expected surface abrasions.
