EARLY AMERICAN LADDERBACK HIGHCHAIR.

Last quarter 18th century New England. The back with three curved horizontal slats joined to cylindrical turned stiles with mushroom finials joined to horizontal cylindrical arms raised on sausage turned cylindrical frontal legs with turned knob hand grips centering a woven rope seat. The legs joined by double box stretcher. SIZE: 27-1/2" h (overall), 22" h (seat). PROVENANCE: Contents of a lifetime collection "Brook Crossing," South Pomfret, VT. CONDITION: Loss to topmost back splat. Seat a later replacement. Surfaces otherwise undisturbed with good dark patina. 52806-92 HMG (800-1,200)
