RARE AND WONDERFUL PILGRIM CENTURY SCREW TOP CANDLE STAND.Late 17th/early 18th century, New England. This fine hickory and maple candle stand with knopped screw threaded post, supporting a circular chamfered edge drip plate above a swelled circular post, joined to a conforming platform, raised on three splayed and swelled turned mortised legs. The threaded post fitted with a double socket candle arm with pierced candle sockets. The whole with original never painted "attic" surfaces. SIZE: 43" h x 13" w. CONDITION: All elements original and intact. Age appropriate charring losses at pierced candle sockets, burn marks on drip pan. The screw post with old minor losses.
