FOLK ART HOOKED RUG WITH A MOOSE IN LANDSCAPE.Mid-19th century, New England - probably Maine. Wrought in earth tones, the bull moose flanked by stylized scrolling shrubbery, hills and trees in the background. Professionally mounted in a stretcher with linen backing. SIZE: 23" h x 35" w. PROVENANCE: Contents of a lifetime collection "Brook Crossing", South Pomfret, VT. CONDITION: Some oxidation, primarily in body of moose, accompanied by wear in center. Light soiling throughout.
