FINE SCHOOLGIRL NEEDLEWORK ADAM AND EVE SAMPLER BY MARIE MARGUERITE AHIER 181_.The samplers central section depicts Adam and Eve with a large apple tree with snake, flanked by pictures of trees and birds, surmounted by Gabriel, with birds and stars, all of which is flanked by two large columns with a rainbow connecting them and a heart above. Other pictures of potted flowers, man and woman, pine trees, dogs, etc. all encompassed inside a vine strawberry border. Below the tree titled "Adam & Eve" and "Marie Marguerite Ahier agee de 11 ans ce 16 jour du mois d'Aoust 181_ (age 11 years old this 16th day of August 181_). Thought to be of New Brunswick Canada origin, research indicates that there was a child with this name from Philippe Ahier (1784-1870) m (1807) Esther Le Feuvre (1791-1850). SIZE: Sight: 26" x 17".
