EARLY AMERICAN BIRCH RECTANGULAR HUTCH TABLE.Second quarter 19th century, New England. The three board top with shaped supports joined to the chair base with turned wood pins at front and rear. The chair base with shaped side panel supports and paneled, hinged seat. SIZE: 30" h x 54" w x 38" d. PROVENANCE: By descent through the family of Major John Mead Gould. CONDITION: Table with slightly scrubbed top, normal and expected wear with shrinkage along seams. Three of four original fastening pins present. Proper right side panel of base with seam shrinkage crack. Otherwise structurally very good and sound. Good color and patina. 52936-6 HMG (300-500)
