FINE BAKHTIARI ORIENTAL CARPET.First quarter 20th century, southwest Persia. The bold and vibrant arabesque polled medallion in ivory, rose-red, and blue-black-indigo set within a wine-red field of dense floral and saz leaf design set within turquoise blue spandrels. The ivory main border with scrolling floral trellis work alternating with polychrome flower heads within multiple ivory and wine-red guard borders, all with floral vinery. SIZE: 10' 11" x 16' 5". CONDITION: With vibrant palate, the supple rug with minimal and even wear. No evidence of restoration or insect damage. Fringe present but with minor losses. Selvage intact.
