SEMI ANTIQUE PESHAWAR ORIENTAL RUG.First third 20th century, Pakistan. With three rows of diamond medallions alternating with rows of polychrome floral sprays on a taupe field within a pale gold main border with large, stylized flower heads enlightened in pale indigo and rose red with delicate polychrome floral trellis work within multiple pale indigo and terracotta guard borders with floral and candlestick design. Note: rug is signed at one end in middle of outer guard border; see photo. SIZE: 10' 1" x 13' 4". CONDITION: Overall minor even wear. Soft color palate. One corner of rug with small area of discoloration in main border, showing slight coloration change. Fringe and selvage intact. Good overall. 52829-76 hmg (4,000-6,000)
