FOLK ART CARVED AND PAINT DECORATED OWL ON STAND.This whimsical example of a barn owl in pine, carved from the solid with brown glass eyes, in a perched position mounted on a wood stand. The carving, painted in shades of brown, with deep set circular eyes and small beak and ears, the ears back-swept, feathered striations throughout. The stand in ochre with dark brown striations. SIZE: Overall: 26-1/2" h. PROVENANCE: Contents of a lifetime collection "Brook Crossing", South Pomfret, VT. CONDITION: Very good overall. Original paint surfaces.
