TWO CARVED AND PAINTED MINIATURE WOODCOCKS BY HAROLD GIBBS.The first a carved woodcock signed and dated in pencil "H Gibbs / 1969" and additionally stamped for the retail seller "DONALD B. HOWES". The first mounted on a burl walnut plinth. The second carved woodcock on a piece of weathered driftwood. Titled under base "Woodcock" "H. G. / 1/31/1939. SIZE: The first: 1-1/2" h. The second: 2-1/4" h x 4-1/2" w. PROVENANCE: Contents of a lifetime collection "Brook Crossing," South Pomfret, VT.
