ENGLISH CHAMBERSTICK & DOUBLE INKSTAND.The well formed 3-1/4" h x 6" dia. saucer based chamberstick with finger hold having holder for snuffer which is present, separate bobeche. Fully hallmarked London, 1850/1. Inscribed on bottom "Hunt & Roskell/Late/Storr Mortimer & Hunt/5048". Maker's hallmark of John S. Hunt. Double headed eagle with crown crest, possibly Earl of Glasgow. The 4" h x 9" w x 6-1/2" d inkstand, London, 1857/8, maker's hallmark "RM" & "EH". Inkstand having two square receivers for cut glass inkwells which match the hallmarks of the base. Central handle, two pen wells, all resting on four compressed ball feet. Crest with spread wing eagle. WEIGHT: Approximately 30 tr. oz. SIZE: CONDITION: Chamberstick very good, inkstand with dents on sides. 52927-3 WAG (500-700)
