FOLK ART GRAIN PAINTED CANDLE STAND.Mid 19th century, probably Maine. The octagonal top joined to the incised ring- and spool-turned pedestal raised on an arched tripod leg base. The whole grain painted on a persimmon ground. SIZE: 27" h x 16" wide x 14-3/4" d. PROVENANCE: Contents of a lifetime collection "Brook Crossing," South Pomfret, VT. CONDITION: Top with crusty original surface and normal expected abrasion from use. Structurally intact. Some probable old restoration at juncture of legs at base. 52806-167 HMG (200-400)
