EARLY AMERICAN PINE TWO-DRAWER BLANKET CHEST IN RED PAINT.First quarter 19th century northern New England. The rectangular hinged top opening to a storage well. The conforming case with two simulated long drawers over two working drawers all with cockbeaded edged dividers. Raised on simple tapered bracket feet. The case with shaped bootjack ends. SIZE: 36" h x 43" w x 19" d. PROVENANCE: Contents of a lifetime collection "Brook Crossing," South Pomfret, VT. CONDITION: Original red paint. Backboards, wooden knobs, and feet also original. Some strips of cockbeading absent. Top with normal and expected wear and abrasion. Very good overall condition. 52806-147 HMG (800-1,200)
