LARGE ROUND CARRYING BASKET.First half 19th century, New England. This fine large example with oak banded rim of tacked construction with flattened D-form handles. The circular pine base of dish form. SIZE: 12" h x 24-1/2" d. PROVENANCE: Contents of a lifetime collection "Brook Crossing," South Pomfret, VT. CONDITION: Natural varnished surfaces original with some minor breaks to the weave, otherwise with undisturbed surface and mellow patina. Some slight water stains, primarily on interior of side in lower quadrant. Good to very good overall. 52806-102 HMG (400-600)
