CHIPPENDALE INLAID MAHOGANY CHEST ON CHEST.Last quarter 18th century. The case in two parts. The molded crenelated cornice above the crossbanded frieze above a pair of aligned short drawers over three graduated long drawers flanked by crossbanded canted case corners. Fitted to the lower case at mid-molding having three long drawers with thumb-molded edges, molded base with bracket feet and shaped returns. SIZE: 74-1/2" h x 43" w x 22-1/2" d. PROVENANCE: From an unreserved Corea, ME collection. CONDITION: Surfaces have been cleaned and repolished. Now mounted with 20th century oval brasses. Old vertical shrinkage cracks on case sides.
