EXCEPTIONAL SHERATON MAHOGANY AND BIRD'S EYE MAPLE SEWING TABLE.Second quarter 19th century Massachusetts. The square mahogany top with reeded turret corners fitted with three drawers, each with bird's eye maple panels and original floral stamped brass handles. The lower drawer with original, removable tambour mahogany basket. Raised on spiral turned legs headed by deeply carved, reeded pilasters terminating in turnip shaped and ball-turned feet with ringed cuffs. SIZE: 28" h x 20" sq. CONDITION: Table retains early, if not original, surface. Nicely polished with rich color and undisturbed patina. Fitted with high quality pressed foliate brass knobs.
