ANGLO-INDIAN CAMPAIGN STYLE CAMPHOR TRUNK.First half 19th century, England and India. The dovetailed trunk of typical form, with rectangular hinged lid, opening to a storage well lined with period wallpaper and mounted with original label within lid inscribed Agar. The trunk with brass-bound corners and edges, additionally mounted with brass carrying handles. SIZE: 19-1/2" h x 41" w x 21" d. PROVENANCE: By descent through the family of Major John Mead Gould. CONDITION: Trunk retains original surface with normal and expected wear. Seam shrinkage cracks present but stable. Old repair to area of lid at proper right hinge.
