GEORGIAN WAG ON THE WALL CLOCK.Late 18th century, England. The brass dial engraved "Wm & B. Huggin / Ashwellthorp" (probably for Ashwellthorpe, Norfolk, England) within a Roman numeral chapter ring within a seconds Arabic ring, framed by cast brass scrolled foliate and shell-carved spandrels. The weight-driven brass movement striking on a bell. Clock is accompanied by lead cylinder weight, probably original. SIZE: Dial: 8" sq. Clock body: 11" h x 8" w x 5" d. PROVENANCE: Contents of a lifetime collection "Brook Crossing," South Pomfret, VT. CONDITION: The clock is "as-found" condition. Currently offered with a partially disassembled movement and associated circular ring weight on cord and with clothes line winder in lieu of chain.
