ANTIQUE SHIRVAN RUG.Late 19th century, south Caucasus. This good example with unusual coloration with five aligned medallions on a midnight blue field with candelabra devices within a conforming angular geometric border of polychrome saz leaf design, all within a main border of saz leaf and candlesticks withing striped guard borders of multiple colors. SIZE: 4' 1" x 7' 9". CONDITION: Overall substantial wear with some soiling. Significant restoration to one end. Loss of fringe including partial guard border. Old staining within middle third of rug.
