GROUP OF FIVE HOOKED RUGS.First half 20th century, New England. 1) Small mat woven with Maine state black bear, chickadees perched in pine boughs in a floral landscape with a fruit and floral border. 2) A rectangular hooked rug signed in script "M. E. K." on a cream field edged by floral and berry sprays with a black border. 3) A small rectangular mat wrought with a central floral spray in soft colors on an ivory ground with undulating blue borders. 4) a rectangular mat wrought with a central floral spray within a border of scrolling leaf tips and flower heads. 5) A doormat depicting two sailors and a black lab in a dory beneath the sun and stars. SIZE: Range from 2' x 3' to 2' 8" x 4' 10". CONDITION: Each example with wear, soiling, and staining. Poor to fair overall. 52885-46 hmg (75-125)
